Alpendorf Holiday (Austria)

We just got back from a wonderful week of activities and fun in Alpendorf. Beautiful place, great weather, wonderful hotel and the fantastic Daniela ensuring everyone has a great time, and it was simply superb. Anyone thinking about travelling there, just do it! You will not regret it. My kids and I have memories now that we will keep forever and I cant put a price on that (don’t miss the rafting day!)! Single Parents on Holiday clearly have this one nailed. Kids have unlimited fun, adults relax too and my kids are insisting that I book 2 more for next year already! - we will be going again.

This was the first time I have gone on a group holiday of any sort and I was a little apprehensive. Also my son is 13 almost 14 and I was concerned that the other children were quite a bit younger and he might feel a bit left out. I shouldn’t have worried. I can honestly say that this was the best holiday I have ever been on. The activities were plentiful and exhilarating and the Adults and equally the children were absolutely lovely. Daniela played a large part in making us all feel comfortable and organised everything extremely efficiently.

Thanks for a great holiday. Hotel was great, very clean & comfortable, very friendly staff. Good facilities, easy access to the mountain and other facilities. The food was excellent every night. The pool was great for the kids. Para gliding was a must – I would urge everyone to have a go. My 8-year old son is still talking about it along with the rafting. Very satisfied with the holiday. 10 out of 10.

Thanks again for a fabulous time and all your hard work. Organisation was great, it was nice to switch off and let someone else have the worry. Andrea was always to hand for assistance, with a smile! Meals were superb, well presented and very nice. I did get a nosey in the kitchen.. it was immaculate! The offer of activities was just right, it always allowed for an alternative option. Our favourite was the family rafting. Overall, I was extremely impressed, I wanted a holiday to allow me a chance to get closer to my children and do some fun stuff with them, this holiday more than met my expectations and we had a fabulous time.

Winter Sports Holidays (Austria)

I had a fantastic time on holiday with ‘Single Parents on Holiday’. It was the first time I had ventured abroad with my 2 children (aged 5 and 7) and it proved to be a fantastic holiday for all of us. The oldest learned to ski – skiing down the mountain together was a memory I will hold onto for life, and the youngest learnt to swim! Both the children had lots of fun with their new friends and I enjoyed having other adults to talk to. Would really recommend it – all the organisation is taken care of… all you need to do is turn up. A real break.

An excellent holiday hosted by Sandra and Andrea - one of the best I’ve had. Skiing all morning, spa all afternoon and such fabulous company. The trip was also memorable for my daughter. Not only did she become transfixed on the hotel’s helter skelter slide, she was able to feel totally normal being with so many other children whose parents had split up.

Hi, Sandra and Andrea, just a note to thank you for the holiday. Having been on a few single parent skiing trips the boys and I all agree that this was the best one. The resort was excellent and we all felt our skiing came on with the more intensive lessons. The hotel was great, particularly the food. We also enjoyed the daily après-ski at the bottom of the gondola! We look forward to returning there next year.

Not being big beach fans, the boys and I ventured to Austria in the summer for the out door life. We all had a great time. The boys learnt how to fish and I met new friends while on some lovely hikes. We enjoyed the whole Single Parent set up so much, that instead of our usual ski trip to Slovakia, we joined the group for the February half term skiing. Fantastic! Great company for us all with a highly recommended ski school, quality ski hire and variety of runs…….We have booked for next year!

Crete Holiday (Greece)

This holiday far exceeded my expectations, great support and lovely company from the other guests in the group. I wish I had gone away with SPOH before, but I was not confident enough and felt like the odd one out being a lone parent. Now I realise there’s no stigma at all and I wasn’t even aware of my ‘singledom’ while we were away. I waited until my daughter was 11 before we went but I could have been having great independent holidays for years before that.

The whole holiday was brilliant from the easy pick up to the comfortable Mercedes taxi ride back to the airport. Sandra’s attentiveness, organising of the water park trip , the extended stay in our accommodation and Tim’s interaction with my teenage boys all helped to turn what would have been a good holiday into a great holiday. The hotel accommodation was perfect for me and 2 big teenagers, plenty of space, the room, the pool, eating and bar areas were always clean and tidy. Combined with lots of sunshine and good company meant I had the perfect relaxing holiday, Thank you.

If you are reading this deciding if you should book a holiday through Single Parents on holiday I highly recommend you do. From my very first enquiry, helping me book the flights, sending out e-mails prior to flying so that we could meet at the airport, a warm friendly welcome even though it was late at night etc I couldn’t have asked for more.
Whilst we were away Sandra made sure we all had a truly fantastic time. From organising a birthday cake for my son, sorting out trips, filling us in on local knowledge and generally being a warm, kind host. I have been on two summer holidays through Single Parents and both have been really relaxing breaks. The children all have a blast hanging out together which means it frees up some time for the parents to have a glass of wine or two! Both holidays my son and I have met some super new friends and I am sure you will too!

Thanks for the lovely holiday in Ronda - it was more like staying with friends than going to a hotel as the owners – Ian and Elaine were so friendly and took so much trouble to make sure we were all having a great time. Ian drove half way across Spain in the night to pick us up as we missed our flight and continued to act as a taxi service throughout the holiday while simultaneously producing wonderful meals including turning up with picnics at various destinations where we were spending the day with Elaine. She was with us all day adjusting activities to suit our individual needs and looking after us in the way you might expect from an exceptionally good friend. Their children followed their example and were lovely friendly hosts as well as excellent translators.

I was not sure what this holiday would bring as it was the first holiday I was going to have with my son on our own but from the moment we were met at the airport by Elaine and her two daughters, I knew that we were going to have a good time. The whole family were, throughout the week, extremely friendly and genuinely seemed to want to make sure we had a great holiday. There seemed to be just the right combination of time to relax, swim in the pool and top up your tan and activities, which were fun. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent, the hotel was clean, very comfortable and friendly and Elaine was funny.
My son Archie and I felt like we had been invited by friends to come and stay with them for a week to be entertained and shown round Ronda. We had a fantastic time, we are telling everyone about it, we would love to go again and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this holiday to anyone.

From the moment we were met at the airport we felt part of a ‘family’. The Hotel is such that we felt safe, we were all together with no other groups and as such felt that we could 100% relax, no need for make up or fancy clothes but 100% ability to relax and enjoy the time with our children and friends. I had such a dilemma about whether to book this holiday, because the thought of taking 3 kids abroad by myself was so daunting. But I’m so glad I did! We all had a fabulous time. The hotel is in the most beautiful spot, with stunning views, great food, lovely rooms and welcoming staff. We all loved the activities; the toboggan run was the absolute favourite! Daniela was always there for us, and our group all got along brilliantly; I loved the fact that on the flight out we were all sitting in our little family groups, but by the flight back, we were all one big gang! We all had a great experience, I thought it was really good value for money, and I would recommend anyone to go for it!

This was our first trip with SPOH, we all had the best time and made some great friends with who we are still in touch with. I loved the spa treatments and felt comforted that my children were being well looked after. I felt like the holiday was as much for me as it was for the children. Joseph and I had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday – an excellent hotel in a beautiful location, great company for both of us and just the right balance between activities and relaxation. Thank you Sandra for giving Callum (9 yrs) and I a great holiday. The food was exceptional, the company lovely and the hotel spectacular. The activities were well organised and we loved the Quad biking and what can I say about the Nocky Flitzer!! The spa facilities were good, although the nakedness took a bit of getting used to. Thanks for a wonderful holiday with good company and plenty of interesting and exciting activities for little and "big" kids. The hotel is in a beautiful tranquil location with smart, clean rooms and excellent facilities. The whole experience was very child-friendly. Since we have been back my son keeps telling his friends what an "awesome" place Austria is and how he enjoyed the rafting, the toboggan run and the pool. Well done SPOH - he is a lot harder to please than I am!

Thank you so very much for a wonderful holiday. Billy and I had a fantastic time. Somewhat predictably when asked what was the best bit Billy said “Kids Club” and “making things at Kids Club”. For me it was the fact that Billy enjoyed himself so much with lots of other great kids, the fab hotel, beautiful scenery, relaxing spa and great company. We will definitely be holidaying with Single Parents on Holiday again!

I went with my teenage son and another family that I knew… Normally the price is the first consideration which may be my mistake as this holiday was not exactly cheap but delivered in every way. All went without a hitch … everyone very friendly. The activity programme was varied and superbly presented. We tried lots and loved it. This was an ideal kind of holiday for us. I like variety of destination so shall be looking at what is available next year.

Thank you for a fantastic holiday. When I saw the hotel - its position and the facilities, I thought I had died and gone to heaven - it was a perfect holiday for all of us. The hotel was incredible; the view  from every window and balcony was like I would expect to see in films not real life. The food was wonderful,  there were all the facilities I would expect to find provided by the best hotels plus, we loved the extras like the slide going down by the stairs and the trampoline in the middle of the lake. The activities were great fun for my 12 and 16 year olds and for me - a little older! Daniela anticipated our every need and went out of her way to ensure that everyone had the best possible time.

A fabulous holiday, and in particular many thanks to Daniela, who was a complete star throughout. Excellent facilities, in particular the kids club was brilliant. Meals were great, and there was SO much food! Rafting and riding were excellent. Exceptional holiday, worth every penny, and a definite for another year.

We had a lovely time and made some good friends. I really enjoyed the activities mix on this holiday. I thought the kids club was one of the best I’ve seen. The hotel was excellent and very comfortable and the food was some of the best I’ve ever had. Even though this holiday isn’t cheap, it is competitive with other types of holidays, so cost was a factor. I like ‘sporty’ type holidays and this was excellent. I enjoyed the walks however there were some people who didn’t realise that they would be difficult for them. The family walk to the BBQ was excellent, unfortunately the weather intervened a bit. The horse riding was excellent for the children and I enjoyed the walk.

Not being big beach fans, the boys and I ventured to Austria in the summer for the out door life. We all had a great time. The boys learnt how to fish and I met new friends while on some lovely hikes. We enjoyed the whole Single Parent set up so much, that instead of our usual ski trip to Slovakia, we joined the group for the February half term skiing. Fantastic! Great company for us all with a highly recommended ski school, quality ski hire and variety of runs…….We have booked for next year!

I've just returned from a week in Austria and it was absolutely amazing! I can highly recommend them - organiser Sandra is a dream! They've got the balance just right - organised enough to make the trip stress-free but not so organised that you feel obliged to do everything as a group 24 hours a day. The hotel was fabulous, the food delicious, the activities - including rafting, hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, tobogganing - were thoroughly enjoyed by adults and children alike. The older children had tons of freedom in a safe environment and there was an excellent kids' club, so that Mums with younger children could escape to the magnificent spa for a spot of pampering. I made some fab friends and some children were in tears when it was time to say goodbye.

My 6-year-old daughter and I had a brilliant holiday with lots of lovely adult company for me and children for her to play with. We’ve made some lasting friendships too. Austria was beautiful and I’d definitely go back there and also go with SPOH again. Sandra was really kind and helpful.

The two boys and I had a fantastic holiday in Austria and enjoyed all of it especially the swimming pools; the quad biking; the walks; the toboggan run and the fabulous food...not forgetting the cocktails! The social side of the holiday was great and not just for the kids. The beauty of going away with other single parents is that you're all in the same boat and don't feel like a spare part or a childminder most of the time. I can definitely recommend it. The hotel was one of the best family hotels I have stayed in - nothing was too much trouble for the owners - helped of course by the stunning location.
So a big thank you to Sandra and her team who provided a service and commitment that made the holiday really special. Looking forward to the next one!

Question, Is it possible to go on holiday without finding even just one thing to complain about? The answer is quite simply yes.
The Sani beach holiday with Single parents on holiday is one of the best holidays I have ever been on. Unlike our last two summer holidays, this wasn’t just a beach/pool/eat-as-much-as-you-can holiday (although it catered for those things brilliantly!). What my son and I both found refreshingly different was the opportunity to meet people in similar circumstances, and to do varied, well-organised but optional activities with them. Our accommodation was as comfortable as our “assistant” Daniela was friendly and helpful. We’d certainly go on another trip with SPOH!

Lanzarote (Spain)

I asked my daughter how she would describe our holiday in Lanzarote and she said ‘fabulous’. I totally agree. Sandra is a wonderful host and, alongside the super clean and comfortable hotel, the all-inclusive deal with great food and drinks, the lovely swimming pools and, of course, the good company of other families, this proved to be a really great holiday. We loved our camel ride, the trip to Rancho Texas zoo, the beach with pedalos and banana boats, walking along the seafront to the marina, visiting Teguise market and cruising in the glass bottomed boat – all great fun. This was my first  Single Parents on Holiday  and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The quality of the hotel, food and location was excellent (proved by Theo going back several times at each meal!). Theo learnt to scuba dive and loved the camel rides up the volcano. Best of all however was the way Sandra made everyone feel so welcome and like part of a small “family”. The holiday had the best of both worlds, it allowed me to have a special holiday time together with Theo and to also socialise in the evening with other parents and the children. A great holiday that is a “cut above” the rest of the competition in terms of quality and atmosphere. Congratulations Sandra and looking forward to the next one already!

Dienten Holiday (Austria)

My daughter & I went on our first single parent holiday and we had the most magical time. The views were to die for, the hotel was terrific and the activities were brilliant. But more than that it was the company of the other single parent families. My daughter thought it was wonderful because she had so many new friends to play with (plus she was allowed to stay up very late). I thought it was wonderful because I had lots of activities to do in the day and indulged myself every evening with excellent cuisine, great wine and terrific company with the other mums and dads. It was a very special holiday for us both.

We were both overwhelmed. My son didn’t want to go home. Hotel was amazing, staff were lovely. Owners were very friendly to. Tennessee, our rep, was so lovely, very helpful and genuinely cared. He was great with the children and in return they loved him... part of our wonderful holiday. We also joked often of having a complaints list, but we never managed to enter anything on it…
